January 23, 1982

Today is Evan's 30th birthday!!! That's right, my wonderful husband has reached a milestone in his life.

This is Evan in Oklahoma about the time he was 2 years old.

This is Evan two weeks before he turned 16.

And this is Evan and his long time best friend (since they were 11), Chris. Chris is also turning 30 at the end of this week---so I thought it appropriate that he also make an appearance on my 30th birthday post. This photo was taken the summer of 2004, when these boys were 22, and that very summer is when I first met Evan.

And this my friends is the Evan of today (well, the Evan of last month) at the new Utah's Natural History Museum with Aiden. Don't you just love him? We do!

I could gush over him and list all the things that we love about him, but I'm not going to do that. He is amazing and if you know him you understand.

For his momentous occasion of a birthday, he received 1 gift a day for 30 days. This all started because Evan is very into his birthday--very---with his birthday month, birthday party day, birthday day, birthday family dinner day and so on and so forth. I told him when he turns 60 he'll get 2 gifts a day and at 90, 3 gifts a day! So we are trying to make the birthday festivities last all month. I even miscounted the presents so he'll end up getting 33 and 31 reasons why I love him (1 attached to each present). It's been delightful, we had a fabulous family party last night and he has a friend party on Friday night; don't you love that he is 30 and we still celebrate like he is 5 :)

So to wrap it up, he's 30 (even if he tries to tell you he is 29) and we love him. We have partied all month so far and we are not done yet. Enjoy Chinese New Year, we'll be celebrating a birthday over here!

What a fun way to celebrate the milestone birthday! I think I'll try this out in a couple of years when Dave and I turn 30.

It's been a good 19 years...Happy Birthday! While we may not move as quickly as we did at 22 (or 11), we're way better looking.

All the best,

Chris
